Great connectors, but make sure you have the right tool

These connectors are for those uncomfortable with getting the right color correct before slipping them into the connectors. The trick is that there are holes for wires to slip through at the end of the connector, so you don't have to cut the wire to just the right length. You just jam the connector on until the cable jacket is all the the way in, double check the colors of the wires sticking out the connector, then crimp.The problem is: you have to use their crimper. It has a special cutter that shears off the wires sticking out of the connector. If you you use a standard crimper, you have to try cutting them off and you'll never get them close enough where the wires won't hit the inside of the jack and the connector won't latch

lamp is great, shade is broken

I thought that the lamp itself is really nice. It is sturdy enough that it won't get knocked over by the kids. The shade was really nice when we got it, but within 2 weeks the metal pieces started to come apart. And, when the metal pulled itself apart, it started to unravel the cloth at the top. When I called about it, Amazon gave me a credit of $20 to buy a new one, but they could not give me an exact replacement. I haven't had the time to look for a new shade, which is going to be nerve racking, so it is still on the lamp.

best key cabinet yet

This is the best key cabinet I've had yet. I've had three at other facilities, and they all had the same weakness: a cheap lock that could be picked in less than 15 seconds with no visible sign of tampering. I know, because I had to open one when the key was lost. There were keys to the entire facility, as well as old keys to previous executives' cars and homes. Protected with the same or less security than a desk or file cabinet lock.This 10-key push combination lock doesn't take a key...so it can't be picked. It can be defeated by brute force (obvious) or by meticulously trying every possible combination. (Also obvious if someone is standing behind your office door for a few hours.)Easy to use, and combo can be changed in under a minute.Knob cannot be defeated with a hammer...if too much torque applied, it is designed to spin freely.My only reason for not giving it the fifth star: the labels are not durable enough for daily use. If you have "loaner" keys that are checked out regularly for all-day use, the labels will get dirty and eventually peel off. Not a huge deal, because they look like standard label tape can replace it. But enough of an annoyance to lose a star.Be careful when mounting. It is a little heavy, and large enough to notice if you didn't hang it level. A second set of eyes and/or a level and ruler are recommended.Also, as with any low-security device, do not mount this in an unattended area. I found one box hidden away in an electrical clost. A hammer and pry bar (or a couple of good kicks) will break any box loose from a wall and allow a perp to take it somewhere else to break into. Key cabinets should be "seen" every day as part of a routine, like locking doors at night.I was so impressed, I bought another smaller cabinet, as well as a keybox. The GE Supra lock is also available as a bare cabinet lock that can be installed/retrofitted to your existing cabinets. That is next on the shopping list.

Defiantly not the quality I would expect from G E. The locking mechanism with the combination lock is very low quality. The stickers they provide to number the hooks do not stick to the surface, if you plan on using the numbering system be prepared to glue the numbers to the metal fixture.

Daily application recommended

I haven't yet used this product; it just arrived today. However, the small print on the front of the canister reads "DIRECTIONS FOR USE: For use in garden beds, around pools, picnic areas, patios, cookouts and camp sites to repel biting, blood-feeding insects such as mosquitoes, flies, gnats, no-see-ums and fleas. Liberally sprinkle the ground with BugBand in 10 foot sections. Normally, re-treat every 2 days. Depending on temperature, time of year and insect activity, daily application may be required. Do not put in pool or food production areas. Nor for use as a pesticide." REALLY WISH I HAD BEEN ABLE TO READ THAT IN THE PRODUCT IMAGE! Our mosquito population is pretty dense and I was hoping this would be the cure. I could handle monthly application during the summer, maybe even every two weeks. But every day?! I will have to save this canister to use right before our next outdoor party and rate its effectiveness then. I rated it 3 stars for now because I can't really say if it's effective or not; I'm just floored that I have to apply it so frequently. It also doesn't say how much the canister should cover. I imagine I would need one canister per application if I'm going to cover my whole backyard. Not cost effective.

Functional, Affordable

I got this at Target. It's easy to set up (time, date, two separate alarms configurable for Monday-Friday, Weekends only, or 7 Days). The weather radio feature is really nice if you're interested in it... one touch of a button activates it and supersedes the regular radio. The time display is small and not easily readable from a distance. The radio works ok but the tuner is low-end quality... what would you expect in such a small box... all-in-all worth the low price ($29) and a good product.

Just what I needed

This is a z-wave controller. It toggles the state of one scene. It has to be mounted in an electrical box, and it has to have AC power. Do not buy this device and expect to be able to get it to do its thing unless you: 1) Have a good working knowledge of Z-Wave technology; 2) Own a Leviton controller/programmer or ControlThink software (Leviton CTTEP-20W ControlThink ThinkEssentials 2.1 Professional with ThinkStick).You have to be able to add it to the network, include it as a controller, update it with the new network information, and associate it with other devices on the network. Once you do that, you put the wall-mounted controller in program mode, go around and manipuate other controls to create the scene, then exit program mode. Once you know how to do these things and have the Leviton programmer or software to make it happen, it really is quick and painless to set up. I have two of these and they solved some serious problems that would have cost a LOT more to solve the conventional way. We have an upstairs loft, the light switches are upstairs, and we needed to a way to turn the lights on and off from the foot of the stairs; there is a LOT of drywall, framing, beam-work, etc., in the way of doing it the old way. The other place is a bedroom where the door was moved from one side of the room to the other. I really didn't want to pull the otherwise good-enough drywall off to run a new switch box near the new door. The bedroom alone paid for the controllers, the dimming switches, and the ControlThink software and USB dongle. The lighting in the loft was pure profit! And now I have the knowledge and tools I need to solve some other issues around the house; Again, pure profit. There is a reason the seller from whom I purchased these devices does not offer tech support on them; if you don't got all the stuff, it ain't gonna work!! On the other hand, when I asssembled all the stuff and followed the instructions, everything worked exactly as documented.

Robbed by seller of broken laptop

I bought this laptop in June 2011. About 1 month after receiving the laptop the screen would go black for no reason and the keyboard would phantomly type. Attributing the problems with the screen to the laptops age I made no attempt to fix it since it was still useable by adjusting the brightness. Unfortunately about 1 week ago the screen totally went black. So I took it to the apple store to get either the invertor cable or lcd screen or both replaced. In doing so apple called me back 2 days after dropping it off to tell me that someone had spilled significant amounts of liquid on the laptop and they wont touch it without sending it to their repair department for no less than $750, more than the laptop is even worth. Unfortunately the laptop totally crapped out after the date that I could get amazon to file a guaranteed A-Z claim.So thanks for lying about selling me a damaged laptop that you obviously ruined and sold before the damage was obvious to me the sap who was totally taken by you. I advise that no one trust this crappy person and I rely on Karma to pay you back for the $500+ you stole from me.

Best canyoneering shoe

I bought these because my hiking shoes were slipping on the wet rocks in SoCal canyons. The first time I wore them in a canyon I was absolutely amazed at their stick to rocks. I felt very solid on wet and slick rock. They were also very comfortable right out of the box.

Excellent Walking Shoe...

"FiveTen's Camp Four Hiking Shoe" is a rugged, comfortable walking shoe, good for a variety of walking surfaces. The thick sole, exo-heel cup, and rubberized toe bumpers provide good protection. The lacing system allows a good fit. The shoe is a low-quarter cut with padded ankles, and the shoe skin seems water resistent. This reviewer has found them more than adequate for three-season use in Alaska."FiveTen's Camp Four Hiking Shoe" is highly recommended for walking in the great outdoors.

five ten shoes

I bought these shoes for my 14 yr old son, that had seen a show on the five ten products for climbing... He fell in love with the idea, although they cost a bit more than I wanted to pay, they have proven to be very a durable shoe. He is VERY rough on shoes we go thru about 4 pair or more in a single school year. They have also been right on size and he says they are very very comfortable..

Works great!

I got this for $69 with 90 day warranty on Amazon two years ago and let it sit for a while. I recently started using it for graphics design and video editing, moving from PC to Mac. It's incredible for Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop Elements, and Final Cut Express. It needs an upgrade for HD video, but ram is less than $10 for upgrade to 1gb. DVD player on this PC is amazing and looks great on my LCD screen. Including OS 9.2.1, I was able to get Garageband and iMovie versions without needing a G5 processor.

Runs solid, but with some surprising limitations

I bought this machine for a SW project I was working on where I needed to demonstrate the same code running on a little endian and a big endian Unix platform. I was looking for the cheapest PowerPC mac I could find. This circa 1999 machine only cost me about $100 and I certainly got that much out of it. I downloaded XCODE for Tiger from the Apple site and had my program debugged and running in about a week.Now what?The CPU is too slow to support the OS-X Leopard upgrade disks I had planned on installing, so its stuck forever on Tiger (10.4).The motherboard doesn't support more than 512M on a single SIMM, so it won't take the 1G PC100 SIMM I had laying around.I thought about using it as a disk server, but it only takes two PATA drives, and ignores any tracks beyond 128 G.It has a PCI bus, but won't recognize any SATA (or PATA) drive board I plug in.I did get it to accept a second ethernet card, and I thought about using it as a network firewall.A few quick tests showed the network throughput to be pretty pitiful.I suppose I could use it to run Quicken 2007.Note: Vender was great. They were very clear about the model and threw in a free keyboard. Machine still does everything this model was supposed to do when it was new and it feels like it could run another 5 or 10 years. Anyone looking to get serious work done on a Mac would be advised to look a bit further up the food chain than I did.
