Nice Replica Of A Rarely Modeled Ship
By Davidp.
While I was perhaps overly critical of the first released version of this model ( the "production version" of the T.V. Enterprise, released in April ), I've had time to live with the model and get used to the flaws, so my opinion has improved. This model, while using the same basic sculpt as the previous toy, features different detailing to represent the studio model of the Enterprise as it appeared in the original pilot of 'Star Trek'. While still containing some errors, it's a nice representation of the model as it looked back in 1964, before minor changes were made and window lighting was added for the next filmed pilot, "Where No Man Has Gone Before" ( it would not be until the series went into production that most details would be finalized, and the memorable spinning lighting effects would be added to the main engines ).Some differences are extremely subtle ( the typeface used for the name and numbers, positioning of the I.D.numbers under the saucer, no paneling in the intercoolers on the rear of the warp engines, the blue color on the pylon connecting the saucer to the engineering section...etc ), and some are immediately noticeable ( the larger bridge dome, the extra markings on the saucer, the unlit and spiked engine domes, the larger deflector dish, and the rectangular detailing on the rear of the engine nacelle caps ). If you're a hardcore original Trek collector, these differences make the model worth having, and a nice companion piece to the production version. Sitting side by side the differences are very apparent.Art Asylum did make one noticeable change by adding lights to the bridge and sensor domes. The original filming model did not have any internal lighting during the filming of the pilot, but they are a nice addition to the toy ( and when they're off, the model is just that much more accurate ).While far from perfect, models of this version of the ship are extremely rare, so I would heartily recommend this toy for the price.

A classic design - beautiful lines
By Lawrence M. Russo II
If you always wanted a nice looking display model of one of the most famous sci-fi ships ever - this is a great one - I am not sure if the color is correct (slightly a bit dark grey I thought space vehicles were more white like the shuttle to reflect heat) but I think its as close as your gonna get to having a really really nice model Enterprise right out of the box. Live long and prosper.

A welcome addition to the Starship toy line
By Craig Wheeler
This is a great and mostly faithful reproduction of the Starship Enterprise as seen in the pilot, The Cage. The only feature that I can see is wrong is the Impulse Engine. As displayed, it represents the version from the 2nd pilot, Where No Man Has Gone Before. Can't wait to collect ALL the Enterprises. Hope they make them soon!
