I HAD THESE LAMPS ORIGINALLY BUT MOVERS BROKE THEM AND I WENT ON LINE TO FIND THEM AGAIN BECAUSE I LOVED THEM SO MUCH. MY FIRST SET I COULD DIM AND THAT IS WHAT I TRULY LOVED ABOUT THEM. UPON RECEIVING MY ORDER I WAS SO EXCITED ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THIS SET OF LAMPS DOES NOT HAVE A DIMMER SWITCH BUT ONLY AN ON-OFF SWITCH. I DECIDED TO KEEP THEM ANYWAY BUT I HOPE AMAZON WILL REDO THE LISTING SAYING THAT IT HAS AN ON-OFF SWITCH BECAUSE THAT IS FALSE ADVERTIZING.

Beautiful but HUGE!

I ordered both this "table" lamp and the matching floor lamp because I liked the style so much. I didn't notice the measurements of this "table" lamp beforehand and when it arrived I was shocked! The thing is HUGE (23" tall)! It looks like a table lamp from Land Of The Giants! :-) It's somewhere between a table lamp and a floor lamp size...and I may actually us it as a floor lamp.

FANTASTIC !!!

This is simply the best sound i've ever heard from any of those sooo many Ipod boomboxes. My JBL Radial "High Performance" went straight to my kids after hearing the sound of this unit. If you want the best sound possible and love to watch Musicvideos or Podcasts from your nighttable, this is the unit to get. There is no alternative. I was lucky to get mine from amazon for 278.99 . (they keep moving the price) This is cheaper than the Bose unit and in my opinion a total no-brainer. The screen i would rate "above average" compared to the 8-9 inch range of DVD Players out there. The only thing i wish i could do is playing the music videos from my Iphone. But i assume with a firmware upgrade, Apple will eventually enable a video out.Also onscreen Ipod Navigation would have been nice. When you play just music, it would have been nice to see the artwork on the screen. But all you see is an altec Lansing sign accross the screen. Remote works very well from a good distance. Overall this unit is very well built. Nice shiny black cabinet similar to the Playstation 3update december 2007: There is a reason Amazon is selling this unit below 250.00. It is NOT compatible with the 6th Generation Ipod classic , Iphone and I touch, works only for the music but not for the Video. if you are the lucky owner of the 5th and 5.5 gen Ipod this unit is great, for all new ipods Apple has made this unit (the screen at least) useless as they disabled the video out. Very poor from Apple !!!

Not compatible with the ipod classic. I called Altec Lansing and they confirmed this fact. Unfortunately it is not mentioned in any of the instructions or materials. Very disappointed. To return it I pay a 20% restocking fee.

Great device, minimal compatibility with iPod Classic

The Altec Lansing iMV712 is a quality product that produces exactly what you'd expect when used with the iPod (generation 5.5 - video, photo, music, podcast playback capabilities). When used with the newer "iPod Classic," this device is essentially nonfunctional. Audio playback is possible until the battery is charged. Video playback is NOT POSSIBLE through the standard docking function -- HOWEVER, it IS POSSIBLE through the external composite video cord (NOT the component video cord) available for purchase for 50 dollars at the online Apple Store. I have used this device with a great deal of success with my 160 GB iPod Classic, though only after I realized you have to specifically ENABLE video out capability - it does not allow for this function automatically, you must go through "Video Settings" to make the necessary change. Many of you longtime iPod users may already know this, but I did not. Back to the Altec Lansing iMV712 - good picture and sound quality, bigger than most people expect (check the Amazon.com dimensions, they are accurate enough), and through the rear inputs, excellent compatibility with other devices such as the iPod Classic, presumably the iPod touch, the Zune, as well as the latest offerings from Archos and Creative. Multiple options for video and audio input make this a solid choice for the present and near future. Despite the lack of compatibility with my iPod Classic, I can say with certainty there is no device I'd prefer for my situation now that I have it hooked up using the composite video cable.

Beautiful, unique and modern fixture

This is actually the second fixture I've purchased of this exact same model. The first one was put in one of our rather large and formal master bathrooms. There's recessed lighting above each sink and in several places in the room, but we decided to use this flush mount fixture on the ceiling in the center of the room to augment the lighting. After installing a dimmer, it gives off a beautiful soft amber glow and looks much more expensive than the low price asked for it. We liked it so much that we replaced our 1st floor breezeway flush mount with this same fixture. It's now mounted on the ceiling next to a formal foyer with 25 foot high ceilings and a 2 story staircase which is painted Benjamin Moore Aura Pomegranite Red. It completely transformed this rather ordinary breezeway leading in to the foyer into something unique. I would absolutely recommend this fixture for anyone who is looking to upgrade their look and have a conversation piece that people WILL comment on. It looks like a piece that would cost several hundred dollars more than it does. I was looking for a place that we could put a third fixture!

Needs better QC

I bought one of this in Oct 2007. Lasted me about 10 months before it failed with semi-displayed digits that no amount of resetting or change of batteries could fix. I have since bought another one which is exactly the same model and I immediately noticed a difference between the 2 units.The first unit that I bought had an incredible clock drift. Every week, the clock would drift about 10 minutes, even when it was newly purchased. This new unit's clock has so far been stable for the past 3 weeks. The clock drift is around the same as my PC. Now, I'm not sure if there's been a redesign of the unit since the last purchase (eg. changing from a simple RC oscillator to a crystal oscillator) but I suspect that the original unit had some faulty components in it and was doomed to fail early from the start.Early failure aside, the things I liked about this model are:1. Does its job well. Just plug it in and cycle. I think that the odometer's off by about 100m for every 5km but I think that a car's odometer is probably off by much more and you can tweak the settings here to match your bike more exactly.2. Waterproof. I accidentally left my new computer in my bicycle jersey yesterday when I soaked it in a pail for 15 minutes or so. Luckily, it was still working when I tested it this morning.3. Works in any weather condition. I've used the old one when cycling in -15C winters and it still worked after that. Granted that it failed early but I suspect it wasn't really the fault of the cold weather.I'm happy enough to buy a new unit after the last one failed but I think that I would have rated it higher and have been less annoyed if they had better quality control. I rated it 4 here but I think that it's really a 3.5/5, an option that is unavailable.Update: I received an email reply from Cateye within 1 week of them receiving my old unit. They identified the cause of the error and promised to replace my old unit with a new one. I'm impressed with the fast customer service.

Had some problems

Ive had the CatEye Enduro 8 for several years now, and ive had a little trouble with it. Sometimes it will not get out of the stand-by or resting mode. I will keep spinning the tire fast, and tinkering with it, and it takes sometimes 15 min to get it to start working, but it always gets going again. This happens when i have to take the display part off my bike when I lock up my bike in a rack, and I dont want it to get stolen. I got a free replacment wire, and it was good for a while, but now its doing it again. It only happens once in a while. Im not sure if it was a bad wire, or if its just that taking the display part on and off makes the connections get dirty, or not lined up just right again.I didnt have any trouble putting it on my bike, and I really like all the features on it. I rode my bike to work every day, though snow and heavy rain, and the CatEye held up really well. When it was raining hard, I wrapped the display in saran wrap to make sure water didnt mess it up.If it didnt have that annoying problem with it sometimes, ide give it 5 stars.

Deceptive title for product - NO compensator!

Advertised as a "Compensator Combo". There is no compensator included, even though it is shown on the illustration on the packaging. There seems to be no way to tell Amazon that it is missing. Only option is to return it and probably get a replacement that is also missing the compensator.Once I fire it I am sure it is a good rifle. However the initial impression is something is missing - but no way to tell anyone about it. My only option is to order the compensator separately.I do have to say after using the rifle it is really good. Shoots very well. Good accuracy. Easy to handle. Easy to load.I'm glad I have it. Just with they would stop calling it with a compensator, since you have to order that separately.Do order extra mags. So fun to shoot, you'll want to keep shooting rather than stopping to refill the mag.It shoots a lot on one large CO2 canister. I ordered the adapter for 2 small CO2's just in case I am out of the 88 gram ones, as they are not as easy to get as the commonly used small ones. Good gun. Good value.

This lamp is unusual and has so much character. The metal steel shades on this lamp cast a beautiful orange glow, yet thelighting brightens up a room depending on how you direct the shades. I have a metal wall art painting in my living room and I am pointing one of the shades towards it, and it just perfectly highlights the art work. Bought the rug for my man room, its just the right size for the room, which isn't that big. I have a cream color wall to wall carpet in the room, so if you have doubts that it will work with that kind of carpet, it works well. I also have my walls painted the Ravens purple, with white trim. So dark colors if done right can work. The rug itself is nice to the touch, and isn't that bad even with a dog that has white hair. It shows, but vacuums right up. Recommend.

Great for the price

We bought 2 of these online and were not sure what to expect, but were just glad they were 1/2 the price of similar 'designer' style lamps at a home decor store.I'll give the 'bad news' first - they aren't the highest quality - they are made of particle-board type wood, and if you look really closely, the bars don't all line up with the corners of the shelves. But let me say, this is a really minor thing, and unless you look close, you wouldn't think these are low-quality at all.Now the good news - they are beautiful! They have a cool contemporary look, and add a lot to the room. With the shade, you get a soft glow, so they would make good 'mood lamps'. They are full-height floor lamps, and are much better than we expected for the price. If you can get over that they aren't high-end craftsmanship, you'll be very happy with these lamps.We bought 2 and were impressed with how nice they were for the under-$80 price range, and we ended up buying a 3rd to use as a nightstand/lamp in a newly-decorated monochromatic bedroom.I agree with the other reviewer that you have to make sure the shorter bars are at the top, this isn't obvious from the directions. It was easy to assemble, though!Overall, I highly recommend these lamps, unless you have hundreds to spend and can get a similar one of higher quality from a boutique store.

Pull chain broke after 3 months/Has been fixed and is working perfect!

My wife and and I love the look of this lamp, it looks beautiful, and the light is plenty bright for a small/medium size room. The only problem we had was the pull string broke after 3 months. If you check out Target's website, you'll see more reviews stating this. If you buy this, make sure you use a light switch or power strip to turn it on and off cause that pull chain is fragile. I have contacted the manufactuer twice about a replacement, but have been met with just a voice message box and no return calls so far. *9/16/09 update - I called again, got a lady named Anna just now, she said they would send a replacement top shelf with the socket and plug for free, I will change my review based on this experience, I will update again as soon as I have the part.*UpdatePart came in, works much better now, they've strengthened the pull chain and improved the design, I now love this lamp again. I had to hound the Adesso people to get my replacement part, but they did finally send it free of charge. I'm bumping it up 2 stars.

This lamp is perfect. The photo does it no justice. When you build this lamp make sure you read the directions good. When putting in the top part of the lamp make sure the smaller sticks are the ones on top or else you will have to take the lamp apart. I learned this the hard way because the beige cloth was too small for the top, then I realized the shorted sticks were in the middle. The light looks great in the corner of my room. A nice picture frame looks great on one of the shelves. I recommend this lamp!!!

This barbie was purchased as a keepsake for someone that wore the same dress on the barbie at her own wedding. the box was a little bent on the side otherwise it seemed to be in good shape. I couldn't find this barbie anywhere else.
