Looks great

If you want a nice little desk lamp that puts out decent light for reading or writing but not illuminating the whole room then this is for you. Sturdy base and construction. Design makes it nice to hang jewelry from. Only complaint is that the on/off is on the cord. It'd be nicer if it was on the lamp area somehow but its not too annoying.

Switch hangs 12 inches off the back on the cord.

The lamp looks great, but the build quality is not so great. 1) The power switch is on the cord, and; 2) The stem is not tightly connected to the base(at least on mine).1) The switch is 12" behind the lamp on the cord. In any situation I can imagine, this will leave the power switch behind the desk or end table and be hard to access. It's either that or leave 12 inches of cord on the table so you can find the switch.It would have been easy to design and manufacture this lamp with a dark brown toggle switch on the base. It could be hidden on the side or placed right on top.2) My lamp's post is loose on the base and easily swings left and right. I will have to remove the felt glued to the bottom of the base to see if it can be tightened, or live with it lose.Not sure yet if I will return it or take it apart and try and fix the base and maybe even install a proper toggle switch on the base.Otherwise, I like the amount and quality of light through the shade and like how the lamp looks on the whole.
