It's a manual ranging clamp on meter that includes most of the electrical ranges you use for HVAC/R plus temperature, up to 1000 Degree Fahrenheit with a compatible k-type thermocouple, for a great price. It also has several safety features like a high-voltage LED and beeper, a continuity warning, push button non-contact voltage (NCV), a lead holder on the clamp, and MAX hold so you can concentrate on the test point, hook up, and see the results after you've disconnected. It also includes capacitance (MFD) for checking motor-start and motor-run capacitors and microamps DC for flame diode tests. Techs tell us It's a solid performer for everyday HVAC/R testing.

Great meter, no complaints

This meter allows you very quickly check for voltage presence without even turning the device on. The audible alert is extremely useful.I've never had to change the batteries in this meter. It is definitely very efficient. The leads it comes with are sturdy and tangle-resistant, and they wrap easily around the slim body of the meter.The meter itself is very easy to hold due to its slimmer than average form. The ammeter clamp is strong enough to clasp your belt loop if you need to use both hands momentarily and have no place to set the meter down.

I believe this meter to be very high quality as i have seen many of the professionals around here use exactly the same thing. The instructions leave a lot to be desired, but I won't hold that against the tool itself.

It's perfect I love the high voltage non-contact sensor it reads 24vac as well. The capacitor test function is great for HVAC work, my Fluk e meter only test up to 5uf. The test leads wrap around with holders for the probes leaving no leads or probes dangling around. The case holds the meter and the thermocouple and you can hang it on your belt. My only regret is that I didn't spend a little extra for the one that has a back lit display.
