Groovy Triplepack includes all three programs in the award-winning Groovy Music series: Groovy Shapes, Groovy Jungle and Groovy City. These three exciting software programs for elementary and middle school students are fun to use, and teach the basics of sound, rhythm, pitch and composition using pictures and animation - progressing to the study of simple notation as well as major and minor scales. Students love Groovy! It guides them with a simple voiceover and lets them create their own music as well as carry out directed activities, so there's plenty of room for creativity. In fact, Groovy Music is so compelling that once students start making music; they just won't want to stop! And best of all, it's incredibly easy for both teachers and students. In the Explore section, students are guided aurally through a series of progressive musical exercises and games, which teach them the fundamentals of music. In the Create section, students can put into practice what they've learned by creating their own music. Shapes are used to represent elements of music such as rhythms, melodies and chords. As your chosen character walks across the screen, the shapes play their sounds. A library of preset sounds is included, which children can simply drag onto the screen to build up their musical creation. They can then play back their piece, edit it, or even see the elements displayed as music notation.

Finally a fun music theory software package for piano students!

This software is so much fun for my piano students! They want to come in early before their lessons each week and create their own fun music. I still have to learn the third disc, but the first two discs have been very successful. I highly recommend for music teachers.

As a piano teacher I am always looking for technology to keep students motivated and this product is perfect for all ages (my 3 1/2 year old loves the Groovy shapes) The explore learning program does not require any music knowledge so students can be successful the first time they use it. I love the instrumental examples and it is a great way to introduce musical concepts along with the sounds of the entire orchestra. The explore section also gives examples and ideas to use in the create mode. All of my students enjoys composing in the create section, recording from the midi keyboard is an excellent feature on the Groovy Jungle and City. I highly recommend these programs to anyone interested in getting or keeping kids involved with music.
