Nicer than cookie-cutter home office furniture, but with typical some-assembly-required furniture flaws

I wanted something a bit different than an industrial-looking printer cart to use as a printer stand in my home office and have always wanted nesting tables somewhere in my home, so I took this opportunity to finally pick up a set. This set of three nesting tables comes securely packed in a cardboard box with styrofoam and thinner foam packaging. The necessary hardware for assembly is enclosed in a plastic bag taped to one of the three tabletops. Assembly is simple for one person; four legs are affixed to each of the three tabletops, with each leg requiring four washers and two nuts to attach. It took me about a half hour to carefully assemble the tables and another ten minutes to vacuum up the styrofoam explosion from the packaging. In the end, they do look quite attractive for my particular application.I did, however, observe a few issues with these. The lighter (off-white) boards are pre-attached to the bottoms of the tabletops with spaces left in the four corners to attach the legs. While this is appreciated for quicker assembly, the boards do not follow the outer edges of the tabletops evenly; check out the customer images I've uploaded to Amazon to see what I mean. This was the case with all three of the tables and most apparent with the largest one. The unevenness is somewhat noticeable when staring at the finished product, but not to the point where many would actually notice, and it's certainly not bad enough for me to send them back. Nonetheless, a few more seconds of care on the assembly line when lining things up could have prevented this. Also related to manufacturing tolerances, some of the pre-drilled holes for attaching the legs lined up better than others, which seems typical for some-assembly-required furniture at this price point. None were drilled poorly enough to prevent assembly, but a bit of extra care was required to make sure that things remained aligned as the nuts were tightened. Lastly, the largest tabletop I received had a ¼" nick in the finish of the surface near the corner; this single imperfection wasn't a huge deal to me, but I'd definitely recommend checking out all three tabletop surfaces for more extensive imperfections when you receive yours. Overall, I'd rate this set a solid 3½ stars if Amazon allowed.

Very, very nice

This set of 3 nesting tables came very well packaged. Even the installed bolts had plastic covers on them to prevent marking or scratching other pieces. They were easy to assemble, and bottom line, they really look good.
