RV crock pot enabler
By Endel
I'm normally do a bunch of research before I buy something like this, but I needed something quick. We were headed out to the desert for a few days of off road recreation and my brother wanted to make chili in a large electric crock pot. Nobody wanted to run the generator all day, so I did *some* research online and ordered the 1,250 watt model (and with Amazon Prime got it quick). The plastic packaging arrived open on one side, but the device and cables seemed fine. We gave it a quick hook up to the 4 golf cart batteries in the RV and it did its thing. No objectionable noise, and although we did have to fire the generator a couple times during the day to bring the batteries back up, all in all we think it worked great, and the chili came out fantastic! After that we used it to power the PS3, coffee pot and charge cell phones too. It's nice not having to fire the generator. The unit itself seems quality. Nice case and cables, mounting holes, etc. Regarding the 1,250 watts, some of our friends have larger wattage models in their RVs, but for selective use this was fine. It can surge to 3000 watts. Anything smaller I was worried wouldn't handle the crock pot or coffee maker, and the price seemed right at this rating. Has 3 AC outlets, a low battery alarm and low battery shutdown feature.
