5FasTrax - Wheel Alignment Where You Want it & When You Want it.
By Peter G
After seeing the FasTrax wheel alignment gauge being used by several crews at various race meetings I decided to grab one as well just for home use.I love it, simple to use and very accurate. Now I can correct the alignment everytime the wife smacks the curb. Might even start a wheel alignment business ;-). If you have customs wheels without the traditional rolled lip then don't forget to order the optional "No Lip" adapters.

4Caster/Camber gauge
By Dave Prask
Did what I needed it to do! No one wanted to align the front end of my 48 chevy car, so I bought this, used it, and the car drives great!

4Works well, not accurate though
By Shannon Kobashigawa
Like many others here, I wanted to learn and do my alignment on my own without the cost of repeat adjustments. It's somewhat portable and very lightweight. I decided to keep the box it was shipped in to store it because it fits well and although it's somewhat bulky, I think it's a good tradeoff for protecting the instrument.I went with this gauge because of the price, ease of use and positive reviews. Other kits seemed to start at $200 or more. I really wanted a digital readout because let's face it, a bubble gauge is not going to give you tenth's of a degree readings. My solution to this was solved with a Craftsman Digital Torpedo Level. It's inexpensive and the reviews are pretty much consistent with what I have experienced so far. Even though the Torpedo Level is magnetized, this gauge is aluminum so it won't 'stick' but it does have enough space to sit on the bubble gauge.[...]I have only done camber adjustments so far and here is my take on it. Even though you can zero out the level gauge, having a relative flat, smooth concrete surface will yield the best, most consistent results. Attaching the gauge to the rim can be a bit tricky, but take your time. Make sure you place the gauge at the same attachment points on all wheels. I tried zeroing out the level next to the tire and directly in front of the tire where the gauge could fit. Depending on the surface, the numbers did come up +/- 1/2 a degree. I guess if you want a 'rough' reading, the bubble gauge will get you where you want to be. If you want to drive yourself mad and fulfill your OCD complex, this digital gauge will do just that. But when you are spot on, it feels good!Caster adjustment on the other hand may be a bit more difficult. I have watched youtube videos of people drawing 15 degree lines with chalk on the ground or using a 15 degree angle cut out of wood and matching the tire angle to it. I have yet to try this out but I will probably do something similar to the wood method. The easiest but most expensive way is to buy wheel turntables with the degree readings on the bottom.I do not have feedback on the toe adjustment either. In my opinion, $50 for one set of toe arms is on the pricey side, and it's only for one side. You still need some sort of straight angle for the opposite side to measure. One can buy a matching set and pay another $200 or..... a better alternative for roughly the same price as the toe kit are toe plates by longacre.http://www.amazon.com/Longacre-Toe-Plates-Includes-Tapes/dp/B000VAOHB2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357423469&sr=8-1&keywords=toe+platesOverall, I am very happy with this purchase. The build and quality seems to be very well made and should last a long time. I would definitely recommend this product.
