Works on most windows -- This window perches does attach to the wall. There are 2 clips at the back of the perch that go into the track of the window, and a sliding wood/carpeted support underneath the moves toward the wall to lock the perch in place thru opposing pressure.

couldn't get it to sit level

I purchased this so both of my cats could sit at the window together. I has high hopes when I took it out of the box. It was the perfect size. The problem i had was getting it it sit level on the window sill. The ledge part of my window frome that you hook into isn't level with the window sill. I actually don't know anyone that has that edge level with the sill. Anyway, I struggled hooking both sides onto the window and it sat at a 45 degree angle. Because of how it hooks onto the window frame, the platform hovered over the sill by about an inch. That is what casued the huge slant. I tried everything to get it level but it was a complete failure. So I had to eat the cost of shipping it twice, to me and back to them. I'm still frustrated that it cost me $30 and I have nothing to show for it except for 2 unhappy cats.

We have 3 indoor cats and lot of windows. I ordered 3 perches and just ordered a 4th. This is exactly what we needed. Our windows do not have a sill, but we were able to make quick modifications using sturdy wood screws and our 16, 15 and 12 lb. cats are delighted. Thank you.
