5Been there, toured with BOB
By George Granlund
I've put on thousands of bicycle touring miles using both panniers and two versions of the BOB trailer. The BOB tracks very well and, with its low center of gravity, barely affects bike handling. I've used both the BOB Yak and the Ibex and found that the Ibex lives up to its' press reviews. I routinely tour with 50-60 pounds of gear and the BOB trailer handles the load yet allows me to feel like a cyclist rather than a Beast Of Burden (BOB). My one caveat is about the drysack. I don't like the location of the buckles while in use (they are underneath the bag). While it keeps gear dry, it really needs to be redesigned to allow easier access. Kickstand is a great addition along with bottle mounts for 4 bottles.

4Good trailer but be careful who you purchase from
By WindyW
We bought this from a seller who tracks Amazon.com price (which varies a lot--check camelcamel.com) and always undersells Amazon by an amount which makes it attractive. The seller apparently sells via storefronts with different names--I notice they changed the storefront by which they offer the product after I left a bad review for them (they sell a lot of baby and kid items). The seller does not tell you up-front it's actual return policy, which is to make the buyer pay not only return shipping but also the cost of the original "free shipping" in addition to an undisclosed re-stocking fee of up to 25% which they determine after they receive the item. When you receive this trailer it states that it *must* be assembled by a qualified bike shop and requires a variety of tools including metal-cutting tools. When we contacted this seller about this they just hit us with their actual return policy and "have a nice day" GRRRRR.When confronted with the situation, we decided to assemble the trailer ourselves, and my husband sat down on the living room floor with the parts and put it together just fine. I don't know what this means regarding the warranty given that the manufacturer requires professional assembly.I have learned that these 3rd party providers must be avoided when there is a possibility of something going wrong with an order--unless they are up-front about their actual return policies rather than referring the buyer to "Amazon's" policies. I notice the seller now has a caveat (after referring the potential buyer to Amazon's policies) to contact the seller for details, ha ha. When I made my purchase the seller I researched the return policy, which only took me to Amazon's page, which turned out to be false. If I didn't have a handy (and courageous) husband, this could have turned out to be a costly mistake. The trailer itself is very nice and rides great.
