good quality sound

I bought this to use with my new Canon FS200 camcorder, for the purpose of making instructional dvd's. It plugs into the external mic jack on the camera. I've just used the laviler mic that comes with it. Sound quality is very good. I am pleased with it. Haven't moved very far from the camera, so I don't know what the actual range is, but I know it works great within 10 feet of the unit.

well designed and everything needed is included

I was surprised at how good the sound was from this inexpensive kit, though the cardoid mic does help in this regard by directional so less background noise is picked up. It comes with everything that is needed except the 9-volt batteries. This includes two types of brackets for the receiver so it can be either clipped to a strap or mounted on the hot shoe of the video camera. 4 Velcro patches are provided for mounting to the side of a camera if that is preferred. A lot of thought went into putting this kit together to make it truly turnkey.The mini phono cable for connecting the mic output from the receiver to the mic input of the camera is also provided (though not mentioned on the product information on Amazon). The mic cable is a coiled design that stretches out 24 inches.The only aspect of its design I dislike is its use of 9-volt batteries instead of AAA batteries which are more readily available and for which one can get rechargeable versions.
