Product Description

New for 2005, and the only amp on the market to employ 'The Dark Art'. The VC15-110 is the new baby of the VC range. Built on the distinguished heritage of the VC30, the VC15 delivers great tone. 15 watts of amazingly warm or classic bluesy lead tone voiced by three 12AX7's, powered by matched EL84's, and cranked out through its internal 10" speaker. If 10" ain't enough for you, there are two dedicated extension cabinets - the GS112VE and the GS210VE. Laney - Power To The Music

4Good amp for the money
By Steve F
This is a moderately priced tube amp that features channel switching and good build quality. The clean channel is crisp at lower levels, but won't do Fender type cleans at higher levels. Of course, like the Vox Class A amps it's modeled after, it really has it's own sound, it isn't meant to be a Fender. As with a lot of lower powered amps, a little distortion creeps in when the volume is cranked, especially with humbuckers. The drive channel is fine, it delivers a lot of smooth breakup when needed. The VC15 is lightweight for a tube amp, there's no problem carrying it around, and it appears to be well built. It uses a pair of EL84 power tubes, which are relatively inexpensive, and it doesn't require biasing when replacing tubes, so cost of ownership should be low.

5Highly underrated because it does not say "Vox"
By Canonicus
I have owned a VC-15 for a couple of years and recommend it to anyone looking for a tube amp that is not a threat to your back. The 10 inch Jensen is vintage in sound with more headroom than you would expect for an amp of this size. 15w Tube is loud enough to rattle the windows and is probably as loud as 75w in a non-tube amp. The dirty channel is okay and I would recommend using the clean channel and deploying a high quality pedal for smooth overdrive. The clean channel has a bright switch which really works. If you have a strat this amp is the ideal companion as it loves single coils. This is not really a "metal" fan amp. The reverb is exceptional--but you need to crank it up to at least 8. Build quality is excellent with well fitted tolex and metal edges which Fender now exclude to save a few pennies in cost. The tubes are nicely guarded behind a professional looking cage at the back. Overall, this amp seems more boutique than the mass market amps and it has the look and feel of something special. No hesitation in giving it 5 stars as it outperforms for the money. If weight did not matter I would go for the VC30 for the extra kick. But for me, and many others weight is a BIG issue.
