Broken Chrome Trim Piece - Difficult Install

Got the hitch quickly, but found the chrome trim piece completely smashed to bits due to poor packaging. The same day I attepted to install on a used 2007 Rav4. Everything lined up perfectly, but some of the holes were stripped out. The truck must have had a hitch previously and the dealer removed it before resale causing the stripped holes. Had to go buy a very specific hole tap (M12, 1.25) for $25 in order to tap out the stripped holes. I ended up breaking off one of the nuts inside the frame, but I figure a couple spot welds around the hitch should secure it along with the three other bolts...*fingers crossed*. Overall, this is a great looking, heavy duty hitch that fits very well. I intend to use it for a bike rack, so I am not worried about it being secured by 3 out of 4 bolts and a spot weld.

What can I say. Instructions were very clear and installation was a snap. Holes aligned perfectly and took me only about 30 minutes.

The product arrived quickly, was easy to install and fit properly. Like others have said, the hitch mechanism was sticking out of the box but was not damaged. To install, you have to remove a tow part on the drivers side before installing the hitch since it is attached to one of the bolts that supports the hitch. You also have to push the muffler to the side to lift the hitch into place and to install one of the bolts. I did not have to remove the rubber muffler hanger from the support or muffler. The total install takes about one hour. This fit a 2012 Toyota RAV4 Sport V6.
