Fabulous quality and value

I just bought a second pair of these through Amazon.Even in a niche of ever declining prices and higher quality, this is the kind of product that stands out as both a superbly crafted offering, and what would have seemed an impossible value not long ago.Everything about Goldring's DR150 stands out as a class act, from the excellent styling and sumptuous and comfortable fit, to the supremely relaxing and smooth sound, to the uniquely designed silver removable cord. Although my own taste runs to classical and jazz, my son (who veers toward Reggae and Alternative Rock) also couldn't resist adopting these as a new standard.I compared these at CES to a number of headphones in the $600-900 range, and always preferred the Goldrings. Of course, cans like other products are subjective. But I don't think you'll find a better value than these.Potential drawbacks for some might be: 1) they are semi-open, so they don't screen out surrounding noise (but that's an advantage if you want to both listen and be able to speak to people), and 2) they ARE large (and extraordinarily comfortable).
