Very nice, but here's a few things to consider

This is a very well designed trash can that looks nice in the kitchen. I put this can on my wish list (and received it as a gift) after doing a lot of comparison shopping. I considered Simple Human trash cans (which seems to have cornered the market on trash cans). I was, however, discouraged by the number of reviews that said that the special "lid-shox" lids started to make strange noises over time and by several reviewers who said that some of their trash cans are difficult to clean one the inside (although some other reviewers dispute this). Also, I decided in the end that I didn't want a pedal bin, which most simple human bins are, because the space where I needed the trash can in my kitchen would make it awkward to step on the pedal. Finally, my sister has a Brabantia and said that the trash can has held up well for eight years, even with two small children in the house, and while she had trouble with the top, Brabantia customer service sent her a replacement part quickly and was very helpful.Overall, I like this trash can a lot. It fits in the tight space in my kitchen and looks good. I also like that it's got a handle built into the back, so that I can pick up the bin with ease (it would be a bit awkward otherwise). Still, there are few considerations other buyers may want to take into account before they purchase. One is that trash liners do not fit easily between the insert and the outside of the bin. Even Brabantia's bags are a bit difficult to fit. I've decided to use regular tall trash can liners, which are a bit more difficult to fit into the trash can, but not much more than the Brabantia bags. I wish that there were a mechanism to hold the bag firmly in place over the inner bin. I am thinking about buying an extremely large rubber band type thing to do this. Also, if you need to empty a dust pan into the bin, buyers should know the actual opening of the bin won't allow for most dust bins. The actual opening at the top is 7 1/2 in. deep (front to back), 8 in. wide (side to side) and 9 1/2 in. diagonal. I have bought a new dust pan, which is small enough to empty into the bin.Finally, this trash can is really expensive -- it's too much to charge for a trash can.
