Angle of faucet and installation issue problematic...

This Moen S711 Waterhill One-Handle High Arc Kitchen Faucet replaced another Moen model. The faucet angle, especially compared to my previous one, is more shallow. This means water comes out closer to the forward edge of the sink... where you are standing. That is no problem while filling a glass, but until you are trained, it is easier to splash yourself when cleaning dishes.And the hoses to the 1/2 inch water lines are now 3/8 inch, so I had to go out and buy brass adapters (two, one for hot and one for cold). The previous model had 1/2 inch hoses. What's with the change?The construction is the Moen quality I've come to expect, but these two issues, the angle of the faucet and the 3/8 inch hoses, were and are irritants.

Looks Good and Works Great

This faucet with its chrome finish and single-lever control has an elegant and timeless look to it. As such, it will complement almost any kitchen--from the 1950's kitchen that we have to the more modern granite-filled kitchens in vogue today. And the spot resistant finish really does work. Meaning that I expect it will be easy to keep the faucet looking good. The installation is easy; the instruction manual with its detailed pictures is quite helpful. And the side spray means that you can conveniently fill the coffee pot or kettle without getting water all over the place. It also means that you don't need to empty the sink before you can fill a tall container. And, of course, the side spray is excellent when it comes to cleaning up the mess in the sink. All, in all, this is a great faucet.

Looks: This Moen has a similar look to my aging Belle Foret kitchen faucet except the design is improved in that the Moen has a taller neck, which makes it easier to fill a stock pot. This faucet leans traditional, but can be used in a transitional kitchen as well (ie, an updated kitchen that is a mix of traditional & modern). The sprayer is plastic, but is shiny & looks like it is chrome. (The Belle Foret faucet's sprayer is also plastic, so perhaps this is an industry standard?). The faucet is metal & a shiny chrome.Installation: We have installed many faucets, and found the Moen to be easy to install. There are helpful & follow-able instructions with diagrams. Parts/pieces are included, so you just need the proper tools.Function: The control handle is designed to be placed on the left side, thus making it better suited for right-handers; however, the handle and spray position could be switched fairly easily. The neck swivels easily, and the taller neck is nice to have for filling pots. If you have a fourth hole in your sink, you can add an aftermarket soap dispenser or just cap the hole.Overall, I like the Moen over my old Belle Foret because of the taller neck. The Moen is a heavy faucet & I anticipate many years of use.
