Product Description
This preamp has the same great sound and super low noise as the Pure Preamp, with the addition of a DI balanced XLR out and a phase switch. It is 9-volt battery or phantom power operated, features a 1/4" line out plus the XLR output in a compact package. The Pure XLR Preamp is specially designed to complement our line of Pure pickups. However, due to its adjustable input gain and wide frequency range it will work with many more applications. Phase switches are usually marketed as a feedback-controlling device, but they accomplish more than just that. Every acoustic instrument projects sound waves in a certain phase. The phase that is projected out of the amplified speaker source needs to be "in phase" with the acoustic instrument's own soundwaves or the result will not be optimal. If the amp projects in the opposite phase, the acoustic instrument will fight its own sound and no balanced tone can develop. Round and warm tone is only achieved when acoustic and amplified sound oscillate in the same phase. The Pure XLR Preamp's phase switch allows for instant correction of this problem. This time-proven outboard preamp features +/-20 db bass, mid, and treble controls plus an internal gain trimmer. The beltclip unit has been specifically designed for the frequencies of the acoustic guitar but it is also great for many other instruments. The Pure preamp features a special super wide band midrange filter, which is absolutely great in combination with the Pure pickups. It's simple and noiseless circuit provides unsurpassed clarity and power and the internal gain trimmer allows you to dial in the precise amplification factor needed for your instrument. An LED light indicates if phantom power is present.

I had a K&K Pure mini pickup installed in my Taylor 714CE and had been playing it through an L.R.Baggs Para Acoustic DI into a Bose L1 compact, but had not been happy with the sound I was getting. So, after much research I decided to purchase the K&K Pure XLR Preamp to solve the impedance mismatch issue. I could immediately tell the difference...woodier tones and at least for me, simpler tone controls to obtain the sound I was looking for.I also have a Taylor T5 that has a Fishman Infinity Matrix pickup installed and another Taylor 314CE with a Fishman Prefix...both sounded better through the K&K Pure XLR Preamp! I had also had annoying feedback problems while playing the Taylor 314CE through the Baggs Para Acoustic DI that were easily solved using the phase button on the Pure XLR. I replaced the Baggs in my pedal chain and played the first show in awhile without one feedback problem!This has been one of the best purchases I've made in some time and you'll be pleasantly surprised by what you hear! I am extremely picky and this easily exceeds my standards...
