A Must for ladders on uneven ground
By Fignot
I found installation easy enough, though it was at first little painfull cutting off the legs of a perfectly good ladder. But all the pain turned to happiness when installation was complete and I set it up (on uneven ground) for the first time.Every ladder should have these. I used this thing for two years now and it is fantastic. The two legs adjust automatically, lift the ladder while holding it straight and as you set the ladder on its feet, legs adjust to the slope and then lock in place. No pins to adjust or drop in the dirt, no extra hands or fumpling with anything, it is all automatic. As best I can describe, the two adjustable legs are linked with gears and a "drive shaft" (housed safely inside one of the lower rugs). As you set the ladder on uneven ground, one leg touches the ground first, that leg slides up, and through the gearing, the other leg gets pushed down; then once the second leg touches the ground, they both lock in place, and you are ready to climb. Should you look up and discover that the ladder is not quite straight, simply slide the top over to become straight, lift the weight off the legs and set it down again. Lifting up unlocks the adjusters, and setting down adjusts and locks again for the new slope.I have seen many other adjustable legs for ladders, but this one is the simplist to use, fastest to use, and has been trouble free. I mostly keep my ladders outdoors, and after two years they have seen considerable use, and this thing works the same as it did the first day.The only reason that every ladder I own does not yet have these is the $100 investment, but if I find the need to use more ladders on uneven ground, then I will be purchasing another set of these at that time.

Well Designed Leveler
By Philip Lam
I found this to be the best leveler for ladders out on the market. It is effortless in operation - self-adjusting and adjustment locks with applied weight. Locking mechanism is positive and does not rely on friction. One caveat - It does require strict adherence to installation instructions for assured safety.I also bought swivel feet from the factory for use on softer ground. These can be pivoted to a position that digs into firm soil. The only reason I give it 4 stars is it's cost. My ladder cost not much more than that of this added leveler. It does add a lot to the ladder's usability.
