Crisp, clean and clear...
By looking around
So, a few days ago I decided to upgrade my Mac Pro speakers from a Bose Companion 5 set I've had for a few years now, to a real nice upgrade. This time around I decided to go with my favorite audio brand: Bang & Olufsen, and I got the BeoLab 4 set. Even at a very low setting the sound is crisp, clean and clear by comparison to the Bose is night & day. I love the looks, the design and more importantly the sound, I definitely recommend these speakers, not only for a Mac (or PC) but also as a nice minimalist main stereo system. I'm listening to my favorite crooner: Billie Holiday, I almost feel transported back in time and imagine sitting with Billie at the bar....amazing how good speakers can get you in the perfect mood!

A little dissapointed
By DrX
The imagery and precision of these speakers is amazing for nearfield listening. Unfortunately, the complete lack of bass seem to accentuate the highs and makes the overall experience harsh. I simply could not continue listening for more than 15 minutes. It is almost as if they are too accurate. It does seem that older, softer music sounds better than newer stuff on these. But sometimes you just want to crank "Back in Black". I am going to listen to some Mozart for a while to determine if I will keep these. IMO, the Bose Companion 5 are far superior at half the price or less. I just put those on my wife's computer when I got these. I want them back!

Sound impeccable
By Rajendra V. Malvea
I went ahead and purchased these from the B&O store 1050 including Tax.Right out the box they sound great....on Low volumes esp; you can hear vocals of Stan gatz -Girl from Ipanema clearly & kenny G- Careless whispers ...of the saxophone as if it were being played live in you're room.Audio clarity is flawless with these speaker(monitors)Like every other driver based speakers these also require a "Burn-IN" period of 150-200 Hours. The sound stage and imaging .....are vast on these speakers.Download spotify either on you're Phone or Laptop and let these speakers play out the tunes. Some people claim there is no bass....that's not something I would agree with since they have plenty of bass...nothing that will rumble the floor butstill enough to be appreciated.
