Great sunglasses!
By swirthit
Awesome sunglasses for the price. These are very dark, with full mirrored lenses and a sturdy metal frame. For those familiar with the 'shade' system used to standardize lens tinting, these are a 4. Most sunglasses, even good brands are a 3 at most. Glasses used for oxyacetylene torch welding are usually a 5-7. More powerful forms of welding (ARC/MIG/TIG) require a 9-12 shade or higher depending on the amperage used. Julbo states in the manual that these sunglasses are not recommended for driving, but I find that they work fine, especially in ultra-high glare situations like wet/snow covered roads. They turn an extremely sunny day into the filtered, yellow/orange light you usually see through summer storm clouds. If you're like me, and kept wishing that your standard sunglasses were just a little darker, these are what you're looking for. The side shields aren't distracting, and make it unnecessary to play with the visor in your vehicle when the sun is coming through the side windows. They're made or leather and are fully removable if the look or feel bothers you. The lenses are not polarized, as is common with most glasses designed for mountaineering. This allows the user to see the reflections from dangerous patches of ice before they're too close. Heavily chromed bumpers will definitely get you attention on a sunny day, but they're not unbearable. Another neat feature not described in the add, the ear pieces are flexible on the ends. This allows you to curl them back over your ears for maximum retention during vigorous activity. I've owned some very expensive sunglasses in the past. For the price, you can't beat these. I look forward to trying other Julbo models in the future.

Julbo Colorado - great value to price ratio
By David Blankenburg
I wanted a pair of Julbo's with the photochromatic polarized lenses but couldn't justify the $190 price tag. I read a lot of reviews and decided to to try the spectron 4 lens. I'm impressed. Although they don't recommend them for driving they are fine here in the desert and have relieved my eye stain during my daily commute. The glasses are definitely for a larger face, they're almost too big for my face which is a nice switch since a lot of glasses run on the small side. I think these would fit over a winter hat with no problem. They come with a very thin neck cord and rather strange looking and large case that does a great job of protecting them. The ear pieces are flexible and can be molded to fit tightly behind your ears but they do bend every time I take them off. They seem very well made but I'll have to see how long they last without breaking from the constant bending. This is the only reason I'm not giving them a 5 star rating.

FANTASTIC SUNGLASSES!
By Bigrigger73
These glasses fill the bill as the sun down here in S.Texas can be pretty brutal. The quality of the frames and lens can't be beaten for the price. No aberration in the lens whatsoever, and the frames seem to be well constructed for the average user. My hat size is 7 3/8 and they fit perfectly!I would not hesitate to either purchase another pair or recommend these to a friend. If your eyes are light-sensitive such as mine, then these are the shades for you!
