Close to those I remember growing up near (50 years ago)

Bought this fan for its functionality and also appearances. It was sorely needed in a guest bedroon in a old farmhouse we own that gets poor circulation. It is heavy like the old ones I remember as a child, growing up in the South. Mainly, it seemed my great and grandmothers had them. Though the one I purchased is the Chrome, the old ones it is comparable to were all black.The fan is heavy, solid construction. The speeds are variable and it emits wonderful "white Noise". It will oscilliate.Sleeping near it, with all the windows open during a Georgia Spring is a soothing delight.( You'll have good dreams!) And it is powerful enough to help move the limited air conditioning around this summer, at least in the small bedroom where it now lives! Very pleased.
